RANGERS boss Ally McCoist today revealed Andy Little is facing months on the sidelines after suffering a fractured cheekbone in last night's 3-1 win over Dunfermline.

Little had to be stretchered off in the first half of the SPFL League One game at Ibrox after being involved in a clash of heads with Alex Whittle.

The Northern Ireland internationalist was rushed to the Southern General Hospital and Light Blues medical staff will discover this week how long he will be out for. But McCoist said: "He doesn't look good.

"I spoke to the doc and it looks a real bad one in terms of compressed and depressed fracture of the cheekbone. It looked a really sore one. He will be out for months."

McCoist was unhappy with several of the challenges his players suffered at the hands of Dunfermline players and revealed that Ricky Foster also has a serious ankle injury.

He said: "He is in the dressing room on crutches. The guy who did that particular tackle I don't think was even spoken to.

"I think he will need an X-ray. I am hopeful it is not as bad as it looks at the moment. We will reassess it. But that is another incident where the ref could have taken more severe action."

Gers captain Lee McCulloch had to leave the field to receive six stitches to his head after a challenge by Jordan Moore that McCoist thought deserved a red card.

Moore eventually received his marching orders in the second half for a challenge on McCulloch that resulted in a penalty for the home team which the skipper scored.

Dunfermline manager Jim Jefferies thought referee Stevie O'Reilly was wrong to award the spot-kick, but McCoist disagreed.

He said: "I thought it was a penalty. I didn't have a good view of it, but if the referee, who was nearer than me, thought it was a penalty then that is fine.

"But the bottom line is that we won the game 3-1 and I thought we deserved to win it.

"I thought it probably could and should have been a free header for McCulloch anyway as the lad Moore probably should have been sent off in the first half.

"McCulloch got six stitches, but the skipper is the skipper and his main objective was to get back on the park which he did. He converted the penalty with aplomb."
