RANGERS supporters group Sons of Struth has polled its members over whether to boycott the club.

The fans are overwhelmingly in support of such action. But it seems to me that many are already boycotting matches by not going to games. Attendances at home matches are down by about a quarter on last season.

The last thing the players need is for fans to boycott games.

Playing in front of full houses would give them a lift. It raises players' spirits when they run out in front of 40,000 people at Ibrox.

Rangers fans are still very unhappy with how the club is being run. But the time to demand answers and vent anger will be at the next annual meeting.

I don't think a boycott is the right thing to do.

For the first time in a few years the players are under pressure on the park. They need as many supporters behind them to help them win matches, pick up points and complete "The Journey" back to the top flight. Everybody wants Rangers to get back to where they belong in the SPFL Premiership.

I am led to believe things are going on behind the scenes and hopefully in the next month to six weeks the position will be clearer.

Until then, the fans should get behind the team.
