FRANK JOHNSTON from Dennistoun asked: "Should Rangers cut ticket prices after huge crowds turned up for the play-off games?"

Derek replied: "The games against Queen of the South on Sunday and Hibs on Wednesday night produced the best atmospheres at Ibrox since Rangers dropped down to the bottom division.

"The whole stadium, not just the Section BF1 in the Broomloan Road Stand where the Union Bears shout and bawl for 90 minutes, was alight. It was the way it should be.

"There are growing and justifiable concerns about how expensive going to a football match is now. These matches have shown what happens if the price is slashed.

"I fully appreciate clubs have to charge a certain amount for season tickets and match day briefs to make money. I also know these play-off games aren't ordinary matches.

"But charging just £5 to get in created fabulous occasions and sent a definite message to those in charge of our clubs and the national game about what can be achieved."
