ARNOLD PERALTA has done well since arriving at Rangers.

But if Ally McCoist is wanting to field a more attacking side he has to pick a player on the right side of midfield who can beat a man and ship crosses into the penalty box.

Arnold prefers to play at right-back or one in in midfield. He is not a natural winger. Fraser Aird, on the other hand, most definitely is.

Aird was preferred to Peralta in the game against Forfar at Ibrox on Tuesday night and performed very well indeed. He added real pace and energy down the right-hand side.

In the second half especially, he was too much for the Forfar left-back.

He delivered some decent balls into the box too. He tracked back and helped out his team defensively as well.

I am sure he will feature more in the weeks and months to come.

But if Ally wants to play a more defensive team against better opposition then Peralta is the man he should go for.
