We lost to Stenhousemuir 2-1 at Ibrox in the second round of the League Cup in 1972.

We had won the first leg away 5-0. But it was still embarrassing as they were the same part-time outfit they are now.

We had lost 4-1 to St Mirren at Ibrox in the group section just before that. Ally McLeod scored all four.

That was a pretty bad result too. Those two defeats stick out in my mind for some reason.

Just email Derek at and we'll print the answer alongside the question.
