John Greig got Derek's vote for most infuential captain

That's an easy one! Without doubt John Greig was the most natural and impressive captain that I ever took to a pitch with. He was the archetypal leader on and off the park.

You could see him have a poor game on the odd occasion – but he would still make sure that everyone around him was doing their bit. He was an exemplary leader – and the type of captain that Rangers could do with today.

If you have a question for Derek, just email him at and we'll print the answer alongside the question.
