I WAS sorry to hear John McGlynn had been sacked as Hearts manager.

I can't understand why the services of a man who has led the Tynecastle club to a cup final have been dispensed with.

Hearts are in serious bother financially and four or five big name players have left during the 2012/13 campaign.

What does owner Vladimir Romanov expect from a manager working under such difficult conditions?

John did the very best job he could under the circumstances.

Sure, the team has lost their last four games and are in second bottom spot in the SPL. But they are in no danger of being relegated.

And they have every chance of beating St Mirren in the League Cup Final later on this month.

I am sure Hearts will take between 25,000 and 30,000 fans to Glasgow for that game and will be difficult to beat.

By all accounts, the players got on very well with him and respected his knowledge and methods.

I am not sure what Hearts hope to achieve by taking this course of action.

Nor do I understand why Dundee fans reacted so negatively to the appointment of John Brown as manager at the weekend.

John was an absolute hero when he played for the Dark Blues and I know he loved the club.

He jumped at the chance to manage the team when he was offered it.

So why Bomber is getting slaughtered I have no idea.

He certainly will be 100 per cent committed to their cause.

Now he is in position until the end of the season, the Dens Park club's fans should get firmly behind him.
