A couple of my former team-mates helped to unveil a bronze bust in tribute to Sandy Jardine at Ibrox yesterday and I am delighted to see it take pride of place beside the Hall of Fame board.

If anyone deserves to have a tribute like that, it is Sandy. He gave the club such terrific service on and off the park and everything that he did during our problems a few years ago will never be forgotten by the fans or anyone associated with Rangers.

It is fitting that he should have that tribute there on the Marble Staircase. There is the bust of Bill Struth at the foot of the stairs and it is great that Sandy will now join him in a prominent position within the stadium.

It had to be put where everyone could see it and appreciate it and I think this is a wonderful gesture from the club, and from the supporters who helped fund the project.

Sandy's wife Shona and his friends and family will be at Ibrox on Sunday for the Hearts game and John Greig will assist Shona in unveiling the work that has been created by Scottish artist Helen Runciman.

There are few men who have done more for Rangers or meant as much to the fans and I am sure Sandy would have been honoured and proud at the tributes that have been paid to him.
