GRAHAM WALLACE said at the AGM that costs will have to be cut and Ally McCoist will be wondering how that is going to affect his playing budget.

Rangers need to be back up challenging for the Premiership title and if you are going to cut here, there and everywhere then it will take a lot longer for them to get back to the top.

Money has to be there to bring better players in as time goes on. There is lots for the board to think about and investment has to be their main priority.

There are maybe too many players at the club just now but you would like to think that it won't be the top notch players that will be going out. There are a lot of players that might not get a chance to play and there could be three or four going out in January or the summer.

Rangers are no different from any other club, if players are surplus to requirements then you have to get rid of them. If they have to cut the wage bill, Ally will, like any other manager, look to offload the ones he feels aren't good enough.

Ally has got to keep the better players in the squad and quality players need to keep coming in until Rangers get back to where they belong.

The chief executive, the chairman and the manager have to sit down and plan for how the club is going to progress on the park. Ally is doing a good job and the board need to help him make the team better.
