Kenneth Harvey from Knightswood asked DJ:
Were you ever the target of the boot boys and how did you deal with it?
On many an occasion. But the worst was season 1977/78 when I scored 40-odd goals and every defender in the top flight was kicking my ankles, pulling my shirt, and slamming his elbow in.
The way I dealt with it was to give as good as I got and do it with a smile on my face. No defender likes that.
