The United fans were starting to talk about his suitability for the manager's job at Old Trafford. The unrest had grown significantly after the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
His team had only started to play in the last half an hour when City took their foot off the gas. A lot of people fancied Manchester United to win the Barcalys Premier League in Davie's first season in charge.
But other clubs have strengthened significantly in the summer. United have hardly brought anybody in.
Davie's team has failed to beat Chelsea, Liverpool or City in the league this season. I thought they were fortunate to beat Liverpool in the cup.
The Scot was, for me, the right man to replace Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United manager given his track record at Everton.
But he needs time to find his feet, build a team and get them playing in the style he wants. Unfortunately, you don't get time at Manchester United.
You have to win the league, win cups and do well in Europe. With 70,000 fans filling your stadium every other week there is huge pressure.
I still think Davie will get it right. Scottish managers have always thrived at United and I am sure he will too.
But, for me, he needs to bring in a few more players in the January transfer window. And I doubt he will win the league this season.
