THERE is no doubt that the game with Hibernian this weekend is a very important one for Rangers.

After a run of draws that have seen us ship a lot of points, Stuart and the players really need a win to kick-start things on Sunday.

We are playing a team that has battered us twice this season at Ibrox and Easter Road. It is a massive game and the fact that it is away from home is maybe a bonus.

The Rangers fans will pack that end at Easter Road so there will still be a good support but there won't be the same pressure of playing at Ibrox.

What the fans will want to see is a team rolling their sleeves up, getting stuck in, defending better and taking their chances when they come along.

Rangers need to compete. We aren't dominating games just now and we need to get the right blend of experience and youth right across the park.

We have to do a lot better. There has to be work in defence, in midfield and up front.

Plus, something I have noticed for a while, is the fitness of the team. I have spoken to a few people about this recently and other teams look a lot fitter and sharper than Rangers.

That is something that Stuart will be looking at in training. It is the wrong time of the season to run the legs off players.

But, if they are not fit, it might take a few hard sessions to try and get them back to the level of fitness they need to be at. Stuart might do that.

At least if you are fit, you will go right to the end. Rangers need to work on all aspects of their game and I think the job is far harder than Stuart and Kenny thought it would be initially.
