FORMER Rangers striker Andy Gray hopes billionaire businessman Mike Ashley can bring stability back to the Ibrox club.
Gray has called for a period of calm as Ally McCoist's side continue on the road to recovery on the park.
He said: "As an ex-Rangers player and as a fan I just wish some sort of stability would arrive at Ibrox.
"If Mike's involvement brings a bit of stability to the club, where it can actually move on positively, then I will be delighted.
"It has been in turmoil for the last four or five years.
"Ideally, if we could get a Scot in there and do it, then most Rangers fans would take that. But it is simply not happening.
"Mike is a terrific businessman, he is very successful.
"If he can bring a bit of that to Ibrox, bring stability back to Rangers, get Rangers back in the Premiership and contesting at the big table again, I don't think Rangers fans will mind."
