I THINK Celtic have been victims of their own success in the PFA Scotland Player of the Year nominations.

Their problem is that three or four of their players have been outstanding in the last season.

Gary Hooper has scored a lot of goals, Kris Commons has been exceptional, Victor Wanyama has been brilliant.

So perhaps no individual has really stood out. The same cannot really be said of Michael Higdon, Leigh Griffiths, Niall McGinn or Andrew Shinnie.

Griffiths probably just edges it for me. Without him, Hibs would have been in a far worse position this season.

He has scored a lot of goals, a lot of good goals too, and has also got them to the Scottish Cup final. He has been very impressive.

Higdon, a player who was booed by his own fans this time last year for missing so many chances, has also netted regularly.

But he has been part of a far better team. Defensively, in midfield and up front Stuart McCall's team have done well. They are second top of the SPL.

Griffiths just shades it.
