He made a couple of ill-advised gestures at the fans, which I think he instantly regretted. But he got through it.
I think he has been one of the Ibrox club's most consistent performers during the 2013/14 campaign.
The fortitude he has displayed to overcome the difficulties he experienced last term will serve him well when he returns against Stenhousemuir tomorrow.
The majority of Rangers supporters will get behind him. And for Ally McCoist the matter is done and dusted.
But there will be some who will be unable to forgive the player for betting against Rangers and I am sure there will be a few boos.
I think his first couple of passes will be crucial. He has to get off to a good start to get the crowd on his side. I believe Rangers missed Ian badly against Forfar last weekend. He always looks for the ball. He gets it and he gives it.
He picks the ball up from the back four, drives forward, plays passes and take shots at goal. The side will be better with him involved.
His Rangers team-mates will certainly be happy to have him involved again and I am sure most of the fans will as well.
