Kev's now fit and getting goals

KEVIN KYLE has returned to the Rangers first team in recent weeks and has netted his first goals for the Ibrox club against East Stirlingshire and Elgin City.

The important thing with Kevin was getting him fit. He has been dogged by injuries and it is only really in the last month or so that he has been training.

But now that he is 100 per cent he has a lot to offer.

He is a big lad, is good in the air, can hold the ball up well and bring others into play. Nobody gets in front of him. He reminds me of Marouane Fellaini of Everton.

He is, to my mind, better equipped than Lee McCulloch, Rangers top scorer, to lead the line.

Yes, the goals he has scored have been from close range. But the knack to being a good striker is being in the right place at the right time and he has got that.

Sometimes that can be more useful than being able to rifle a 25-yard shot into goal.

All natural strikers are born with that instinct. Kevin has that.

With Francisco Sandaza not far away Ally McCoist has a lot more options in attack.
