YOU would have got really big odds on Kris Boyd not taking any of the chances he has had in the last couple of games, especially the one-on-ones with the goalkeeper.

These things happen to strikers, though. You go through phases where you don't score, just like defenders make a series of mistakes or keepers concede silly goals.

There are times when you score goals out of nothing and others where even the simple chances just don't go in.

Kris is in one of those runs where nothing seems to be going right for him at the moment, but I don't think it is a major worry.

If Rangers weren't creating openings for him, that would be a bigger problem. You can see his head going down at times when the chances aren't going in, but I don't think it will affect him too much.

He missed a number of good opportunities against Raith last week and he should have scored against Inverness too.

All he needs is one goal, though. Once it goes in, you will see the smile on his face and he will be up and running. There is no doubt he'll score a lot of goals this season.

It was a brave decision by Ally on Tuesday night to take him off.

We needed a goal and a lot of people would have thought Boyd would be the man to get it, but it wasn't happening for him so Coisty decided to take him off.

I thought that was a good bit of football management.
