I think Gordon Strachan has realised that although he is playing in the third tier of the Scottish game he is worth selecting.
Wallace has played international football before. It is not as if he is winning his first cap.
He is a seasoned professional who has played at a high level of football.
The left-back did well when he came on towards the end of the Macedonia match last month. He very nearly scored.
He can go forward down his wing and and get balls into the opposition box.
He is naturally left-footed and does not need to get it on to his right foot to deliver the ball into a rival team's area like Steven Whittaker does.
He can also defend. To my mind, he is the best left-back Scotland have available to them.
I think Gordon now sees Lee as a player who can do a job in his team, despite the level he is operating at on a weekly basis.
It is vital that Scotland win this game and finish as high up the table as possible even though we are obviously unable to qualify for the World Cup Finals.
It will determine where we are seeded for the Euro 2016 qualifiers. With 24 countries competing in France - an increase of eight - we have a good chance of reaching the finals of a major tournament.
