I was surprised to read Donald Findlay's comments regarding Rangers last week and I can understand why a lot of fans were upset at what he said.

I think the message he has been trying to get across has been taken in the wrong way.

I think what he was trying to say was that this is not the Rangers that he knew from when he was there, when he knew the people on the board and they were all Rangers men.

Nowadays, it is about the money men who are running Rangers, which might not sit as easily with him

I don't think he meant that Rangers are a new club. That isn't the case.

He said it was a different Rangers to when he was at the club.

Donald was, and probably still is for that matter, as big a Rangers fan as anyone that was there at that time.

Once you are inside those four walls it is very hard to get that out of your system.

And remember he was a Rangers man before he went in there anyway.

He is maybe a bit disappointed with what is going on and how Rangers are being run - and I can understand that.

But Rangers now are the Rangers they have always been and always will be.

It is just a different type of person that is running things at Ibrox these days.

That doesn't mean Rangers are a new club, though.
