STEVE SIMONSEN 6 Left exposed by his shoddy defence as Griffiths and Commons netted in the first half and Van Dijk headed over.

Denied Johansen just before the break with a good stop. Couple of blocks in second half.

RICHARD FOSTER 4 Struggled defensively as Celtic swarmed forward and didn't offer anything going the other way either. Not a good day for the right-back.

DARREN McGREGOR 4 Old Firm bow to forget for the Ibrox defender. Caught out at Griffiths header and several times thereafter in a ropey first half. One of his poorest games for the Gers.

LEE McCULLOCH 5 At the heart of a defensive line that was all over the place in the first half. Steadied the ship after the break, but couldn't inspire Rangers to a shock comeback.

LEE WALLACE 5 Rangers needed a big performance from their best player, but the left-back couldn't deliver. Better in the second half and was far from the worst in Light Blue.

IAN BLACK 4 Had a couple of skirmishes with Brown early on, but never looked like asserting himself in the middle of the park. Passing and delivery far from good enough on his return to the team.

FRASER AIRD 2 Hooked at the break after an ineffectual first-half showing. Didn't make the most of what few chances he had on the ball and delivery was poor.

KYLE HUTTON 4 Outclassed in midfield as Celtic dominated in the first half. Improved slightly, but still too far off the pace.

NICKY LAW 4 Another poor performance in a big game for Rangers. Didn't get close enough to Miller and didn't show any quality on the ball.

STEVEN SMITH 4 Handed a midfield berth to try and stem the Celtic flow down the flank but plan didn't pay off.

KENNY MILLER 6 Asked to roll the back the years and lead the Rangers forward line on his own. Isolated in the first half and got little change from Van Dijk and Denayer. Better with Daly alongside him. but efforts went unrewarded.

SUBS:

JON DALY 5 (for Aird 45) Gave Rangers a much-needed physical presence in the final third. Played his part in an improved second-half showing, but chances were few and far between.

NICKY CLARK 2 (for Miller 80) Handed his Old Firm bow, but couldn't make a real impact with the game long gone for Rangers.
