THE size of the crowds at Ibrox continues to be deeply worrying for Rangers.

Fans have clearly have no trust in the club - either on or off the park.

Even those supporters who bought season tickets in the summer aren't turning up for games now.

I didn't think there were 28,137 at the SPFL Championship game against Cowdenbeath last Saturday.

So I wasn't surprised when the chairman David Somers this week confirmed there were less than 20,000 there.

It is poor when you consider that more than 40,000 turned up to see the Gers against part-time minnows like Annan Athletic two years ago.

Light Blues followers felt the club was back on track at that time and wanted to get behind them.

But they aren't prepared to part with their money after everything that has happened off the field since then.

Rangers are in a real predicament. It isn't helping the club and it isn't helping the players.

You have to wonder what will happen next.

Where does the club go to stay afloat. Does somebody look to Ibrox and Murray Park for security?

Something has to be done and said about how the club is going to go forward very quickly - either at the AGM or before.

I know the club has said it intends to hold another share offer next year.

But who is going to be interested in investing in it?

It is a difficult environment for Ally McCoist and his players to be working in.
