James MacDonald of Drumchapel asked: "Should video evidence be used to help referees?"

Derek said: "It definitely should. It would help referees in a lot of situations.

"At the Dundee United v Celtic game on Sunday, Craig Thomson didn't see the incident that resulted in two players being sent off.

"He had to rely on his assistant to tell him what happened and his assistant got it totally wrong.

"If an official was somewhere checking what had happened on a video replay that could have been avoided.

"Football has to move into the 21st century. Every other sport is doing it and so should we."
