A win over Stirling Albion at Ibrox and a draw or defeat for Queen's Park when they play Annan will see Ally McCoist's side crowned champions.
It will not be the biggest moment in Rangers' great history, but it is the first step towards getting back to the top flight of Scottish football as quickly as possible.
Let's not kid ourselves, they have often not turned in the kind of performances people might have expected and had the odd blip on the way, but they are still on course to win the league by a huge distance this season.
Everyone realises that the football has not been good, but they are going to win the league sooner rather than later, and that is what the players were brought in for in the summer.
Getting this season over with quickly is important and the title will be won soon, either this weekend or possibly against Montrose in a couple of weeks.
Ally can then start looking to next season more and go and look at players and get his plans in place as he looks to make it two-in-a-row.
