TIMES TALKER: Can Rangers afford to keep Neil Alexander?

NO says ALISON McCONNELL

ALLY McCOIST has made it clear that he wants to have two quality keepers at Ibrox.

And if Rangers are to pursue a way through the leagues and make it back to the very top then they need a reliable and experienced stopper who knows the ropes at the club.

Killie's Cammy Bell is on the radar and in all likelihood will be at the Ibrox club by next season.

But they should also try to keep Alexander too since at the minute there is no real back up for him.

His salary level remains high but he stuck by the club this season when so many others around him jumped ship elsewhere and left the club with nothing.

Alexander has not been without his critics but all in all he has done a decent job between the sticks for Rangers and should be expected to be offered a contract that is of a length that gives him some level of security.
