RANGERS booked their place in the semi-finals of the Petrofac Training Cup with a routine 2-0 win over East Fife in New Bayview.
Goals from Jon Daly in the first half and Ian Black in the second half ensured the Ibrox club progressed to the last four of the competition.

Ally McCoist's men, who lost in the final to Raith Rovers last season, will now play SPFL Championship opponents Alloa at the Indodrill Arena.

McCoist started with Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller on the bench and handed Nicky Clark and Daly the chance to show what they are capable of.

Daly, who netted a double after coming on late on in the 6-1 win over Raith on Saturday, did not let down his manager. He bundled in the opening goal from just a couple of yards out on the half hour mark.

It took until the 57th minute for Rangers to build on their tally. Ian Black powered home a free-kick that gave East Fife keeper Allan Fleming no chance.

Boyd and Miller came on for Clark and Daly respectively in the closing stages of the game to help their side see out the win.
