Ally McCoist's side were due to host the Pars at Ibrox on Saturday, October 12, with the game set to be screened live on BT Sport.
But Gers last night lodged an application with the SPFL to call off the fixture and reschedule it for a later date.
Under SPFL rules, clubs can request the postponement of league fixtures when they have three or more players selected for national service.
Lee Wallace was yesterday named in the Scotland squad for the Hampden clash with Croatia on October 15 while Lewis Macleod has been named in the Dark Blues' Under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifiers.
With Arnold Peralta set to feature for Honduras and Andrew Little and Dean Shiels on stand-by for Northern Ireland, Rangers have had their request granted.
A club statement said: "Next week's home League One fixture with Dunfermline has been postponed after Rangers asked for a cancellation because of international call-ups.
"The Light Blues will be without at least three players next Saturday because they'll be away representing their countries.
"As such, Ally McCoist has exercised the club's right to request the fixture be moved and an application was submitted last night."
