Winger Aird got the title celebrations underway at Ibrox on Saturday when he netted the first goal in a 3-0 defeat of third-placed Stranraer.

The 19-year-old then partied with his team-mates as Light Blues captain Lee McCulloch was presented with the third-tier trophy after the final whistle.

But the Toronto-born player does not want the good times to end there.

He said: "You dream of days like Saturday, of lifting the trophy in front of nearly 50,000 fans. To score a goal and get Man of the Match was incredible. And the season is not over. We want to finish undefeated."

Meanwhile, Aird, who has Scottish parents, has given the strongest indication yet that he will decide to pledge his international future to Canada.

Despite being part of the Scotland Under-19 set-up, he is set to be named for Canada's training camp in Austria at the end of the season. He said: "I am waiting to find out if I am in the squad."

Sussed in the City

I laughed at viewers saying Broadchurch’s Tennant is too Scottish, are some people too lazy to listen?
