POLISH immigrants were today reminded of their right to vote in the Scottish Parliamentary elections in May.

With 100 days to go before polls open, Polish bus drivers for First Group in Glasgow were lending their support to the VoteScotland campaign.

A campaign spokesman said all EU citizens now resident in Scotland were entitled to vote in the Holyrood and council elections on May 3.

The spokesman added: "Many New Scots' from Eastern Europe do not realise they have to register to vote first. The final deadline for registration is April 18.

"The campaign is working with community groups, employers, charities and other organisations to inform people about how to register and how the different voting systems work.

Registration forms have been translated into 10 languages including Chinese and Polish.
