BUDGET flyer Ryanair has been voted the worst airline by UK travellers for the second year.
A third of people in Britain voted the Irish no-frills airline their least favourite, giving delays, cancellations, unfriendly staff, uncomfortable seats and poor legroom as the reasons.
USAirways was voted the least favourite airline worldwide over Ryanair, which came bottom last year, according to more than 2500 respondents to the travel survey.
Ryanair flies 28 routes out of Prestwick Airport to destinations such as Paris, Rome and Dublin.
British Airways, which came top in the TripAdvisor survey last year, slipped to third place overall but was voted top airline by travellers outside the US. American Airlines was the favourite airline. Travellers said friendly and helpful staff, good on-time arrival and departure records, and comfortable seats made the flyer the best.
Ryanair hit back at the survey. A spokesman said: "This year, 52 million passengers will vote with their feet and travel with Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline, knowing it's number one for customer service, low fares and punctuality.
"This hardly compares to the 833 people who voted in the survey, most whom probably never travelled with Ryanair."
The survey also found British travellers rate personal comfort more important than others.
Travellers give a thumbs down to the use of mobile phones in the skies, with 90% of British and 78% of travellers worldwide voting against it. British travellers also take more time off than those from the rest of the world but are far less active when on holiday.
Nearly half of Britons had between four and six weeks annual holiday and 43% had six weeks or more.
Some 64% will head for a beach and do little else on holiday.
