Students turn on the style

MODELS show off the bold and daring creations of Glasgow's next generation of designers.

This year's Glasgow School of Art fashion show kicked off last night with a plethora of edgy experimental outfits made by third-year textiles students.

The annual celebration of the city's new and emerging fashion designers continues tonight with another exciting catwalk display.

Forty students are making the most of the chance to exhibit their work at the event at the School.

Avant Garde is the theme of this year's show with the students' bright designs inspired by architecture, industry, wrought iron work and cinema queens such as Greta Garbo.

Guest lecturer and fashion designers extraordinaire Julian Roberts has been working with the the BA (Hons) Design students on their creations.

All they have to do is take a walk through Edinburgh in a lesson on what NOT to wear.

Very sensible comment Jim. You are obviously a very cultured and well traveled man with a wealth of knowledge of the design world. Thanks for your support of Glasgow's upcoming textile talent. See you in Primark or JJB's
