THE memories of patients and staff are urgently needed - to help tell the story of the NHS in Glasgow over the past 60 years.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and media partners the Evening Times and Radio Clyde, are gearing up to celebrate the diamond anniversary of the NHS.
Together we plan to produce special newspaper supplements, organise outside broadcast events and create a special website showing photographs recording the history of the NHS and sharing the best memories from patients and staff.
We also want to hear from volunteers about experiences in the NHS since its launch on July 5, 1948.
There were 300 babies born in NHS hospitals on that day in Scotland - perhaps you were one of them and would like to share your story.
Perhaps you remember the old days, when treatments for now common diseases were very different or didn't exist.
Your stories may be heart-warming or they may invoke more grim memories of less affluent and sophisticated times.
Some of the best stories will be taken forward and used in the Evening Times, the NHS anniversary website or broadcast on Radio Clyde.
Ally McLaws, health board director of communications, said: "We plan to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the NHS in style with a whole range of events, culminating in a ticketed diamond anniversary show in the Royal Concert Hall on the afternoon of July 5.
"The photographic archive of the Evening Times will help us tell in pictures the remarkable story that has seen the NHS develop - but the real celebration is about the people who have used the NHS and worked in it.
"Remarkable stories of courage, devotion and challenge unfold in our hospitals and our communities every day and often go untold and unrecognised. We want to give a platform to the best of these stories."
