Susan Nicol, general manager of the St. Enoch Centre, said:
We are extremely pleased to be associated with the Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year contest.
The awards are firmly established as one of the most prestigious events in the Scottish calendar and really seem to strike a chord with people across the country. I'm also delighted to see that this year's awards have been expanded and will now recognise the achievements of some of our heroes in the business and sporting arenas.
I think what we all particularly respond to is the feeling that the women who are being recognised have made a significant contribution to Scottish life and really deserve their awards.
So many of the previous winners have not simply been successful in their own chosen fields but, in achieving that success, have helped others to make their mark in life along the way.
That sense of being part of a community is something which we at the St. Enoch Centre see as a vital element of our own business.
The Centre has been part of the community in Glasgow for 18 years and is currently undergoing a massive £100 million redevelopment. Our aim in carrying out this transformation is to ensure that we continue to play a part in the ongoing regeneration of the city of Glasgow and make a real contribution to the local community in which we operate.
