GOAL-DEN Bhoy Kris Commons and rising star Tony Watt could be handed the job of firing Celtic to victory against Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday.

With Gary Hooper suffering a hamstring injury in the 5-0 win over St Johnstone, manager Neil Lennon will not take any risks with the top scorer ahead of the Champions League crunch match with Barcelona next Wednesday.

Georgios Samaras is still touch and go to return this weekend after limping off with an ankle injury in the Nou Camp.

Lassad Nouioui is at least two weeks away from playing again after damaging a thigh muscle, Miku has yet to open his account for the club since joining back in August, while Anthony Stokes is expected to be out for a further six weeks.

But Lennon has every confidence Commons and Watt are finding the target often enough to ensure the goals don't dry up at Tannadice.

The Hoops boss said: "Tony takes the ball in really well. He has got good feet and his touch is getting better.

"He still needs to work on his awareness, but I think that will all come with the more experience he gets.

"Considering the players we have out, and the role he has played, Tony has been a huge bonus for us."

Even more of a bonus has been the goals Commons has contributed, and Lennon wants more of the same from the man who scored two and set up two against St Johnstone in Tuesday.

He said: "I don't know how many Kris has got already this season. He must be near double figures. So there is no reason why he can't go 15 to 20.

"I am not setting him any targets. I just want him to keep playing.

"But it is not just his goals. He is a creative player, and his pass for Gary Hooper's goal against St Johnstone was superb.

"His set piece delivery was also excellent.

"Kris played with real intent, and that was the response I was looking for.

"Kris knows he is an important player. And, when he plays like he did against St Johnstone, he is pivotal to the way we want to play.

"Kris can also play in a variety of positions in the forward line. He is intelligent, and we like intelligent players.

"Above all else, he has a real killer instinct at times."
