EMILSON CRIBARI is loving life at Rangers so much he wants to extend his deal.

The Brazilian defender has endured a rocky start to his Ibrox career, but he helped Ally McCoist's men to a 7-0 Scottish Cup win over Alloa before limping off.

But the former Serie A stopper, who played for Lazio, Napoli and Udinese – reckons he made the right decision to snub a return to his homeland to sign for Ally McCoist's men. And he is already looking at life beyond the end of the season. Cribari said: "The idea here is to take it year by year, but I am certainly thinking about staying longer than two years.

"So far everything is going well, I'm playing all the games, we're first in the league and talking about moving up the divisions.

"We will see what will happen at the end of the season, but I am very happy here. Playing in this league with over 40,000 people watching you every week is very exciting and it's something I didn't expect.

"It's a totally different culture from Italy or Brazil. The crowds push us forward.

"You would think we are in the top division because of the crowds."

And there's one game Cribari would love to play in.

He said: "I think the Old Firm rivalry is the best in the world. As is normal in this situation, Celtic fans have been joking about Rangers, just as our fans would be if they were in our position.

"We have only a few players left from last season, but we know our responsibilities.

"We are a very united squad and we will get back to the top, starting by winning our league this season."
