ROBBIE CRAWFORD hopes two goals in four days will be enough to land him his first ever start for Rangers this weekend.

The youngster capped an impressive cameo performance with a well-taken strike against Alloa in the Scottish Cup last Saturday, netting the fifth goal in Gers' 7-0 cruise against the Irn-Bru Second Division side. He then followed that up with the opening goal of the Light Blues' reserve win over Raith Rovers on Tuesday, converting Kevin Kyle's knockdown to set them on course for a 4-2 win in Kirkcaldy.

Kyle, Kamil Wiktorksi and Jamie Burrows were also on target for the Swifts and Crawford is keen to continue his second-string form into the first team arena when Peterhead visit Ibrox on Saturday.

He said: "I'm happy with the way this week has gone and hopefully I've done enough to stay involved in the first team this weekend.

"The reserve team is a great platform for us to show why we should be stepping up. Hopefully I've done enough to feature against Peterhead.

"I'd like to think I'll have a chance, although competition for places is fierce. It's a big game for the club, though. We're looking to build momentum after the Alloa win."

Crawford added: "I thought the team played really well. We made things difficult for ourselves at times at Raith and we could have taken more chances, but we scored good goals.

"It was a team performance and it's good we're not just relying on one person to get us goals."

Meanwhile, Rangers' Third Division clash with Annan Athletic, due to be played at Ibrox on Saturday, December 1, has been rescheduled due to their participation in the Scottish Cup.

Instead of hosting the Galabankies, Ally McCoist's side will now face Elgin City that weekend, with their Annan clash set to be played on Wednesday, December 19.
