Celtic ace Georgios Samaras would settle for a scrappy own goal against Spartak Moscow – as long as it takes the Parkhead side into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The striker has been the Hoops' talisman this season in the competition, but he has insisted that he doesn't care who is on the scoresheet against the Russians.

The Parkhead side lost 2-1 in Lisbon last night to Benfica, and they now have it all to do in their final game in Group G.

The stage is set for a riveting finale, with Celtic needing to better Benfica's result, with the Portuguese side heading to Barcelona in the Nou Camp.

However, with Parkhead set to be packed for what will be another dramatic European night in Glasgow, Samaras is more than happy for someone else to take the limelight.

"I don't care who scores," said the Greek, who netted last night. "I just want us to go through.

"If someone else scores or if it is an own goal, I don't care. I just want my team to win against Spartak Moscow and to go through.

"We have to take the positives from the result. We still have a chance to go through.

"When you lose a game you are not really happy. The game was close, but the team effort was there. I'm just looking forward to the next game now."

Meanwhile, Victor Wanyama will miss the tie against the Russians after picking up a soft booking in Lisbon last night.

Despite their loss, however, Samaras is confident there is enough strength in depth for Neil Lennon to cope.

"Victor is a great player," he said. "He has great strength and brings a good balance to the team but there are enough players here."
