RANGERS loan star Dorin Goian has been handed a four-match ban in Italy for pushing a referee.

The Romanian defender, who is on loan at Serie B side Spezia, hot water with the Italian football authorities during a match at the weekend against Juve Stabia.

He contested a 88th- minute winner for Juve in a 3-2 defeat so strenuously that he manhandled referee Maurizio Ciampi, who promptly sent him off.

Now he's been handed with a bumper four-match ban by the Italian Federation Disciplinary Committee who ruled that Goian had "tried to intimidate the referee".

It was the second time the 31-year-old international has been dismissed since his arrival in Italy and he now won't play for his team again this year.

Fellow defensive Ibrox loanee, Carlos Bocanegra, was also sidelined last week after tearing a hamstring meaning the Racing Santander stopper is out for six weeks.

The pair left Rangers on season-long loans in August after initially starting the season with Ally McCoist's men.
