Alan Archibald hopes Partick Thistle can make it a perfect 10 at Firhill this weekend as they aim to rack up yet another victory at fortress Firhill.

The Jags' mighty run of wins in Maryhill began in August with a 3-1 win over Falkirk and is still going strong in November after their recent 2-0 triumph over Livingston.

Jackie McNamara's men have slammed in 26 goals and only conceded three in seven home games on their journey to the top of the Irn-Bru First Division, while their procession has also spanned games in the Alba Challenge Cup and William Hill Scottish Cup.

Title rivals Dunfermline are next in their path on the fourth round of the road to Hampden and travel to Firhill only a few weeks after suffering a 5-1 thumping from the Jags.

Saturday's win over Livingston saw Thistle bounce back from a shock loss at Hamilton.

Archibald reckons home comforts could prove crucial again and said: "It was a great result for us because Livingston are a good team and they play good football.

"I always fancy us at home, we are very good at Firhill and the home form has been excellent. We are proud of the record we have got. I think it started from pre-season, the boys enjoy playing here.

"In the last few years, we have not had any pre-season games at home, but we had a tournament this year and we were able to build a rapport with the crowd from the start.

"At any other time, you would prefer to avoid them but we played Dunfermline a few weeks ago and it was a good game with some good football and we were able to get a great result.

"I think that takes away the boredom of two First Division teams playing again. It is two teams at the top of the league who are both going well so it should be a good game.

"It will be a totally different game, being a cup tie both teams will certainly go for it and that should make it a good encounter."

Archibald reckons boss McNamara has built one of the strongest Jags squads in years.

The Thistle skipper has found to his cost the quality within the Firhill ranks, seeing youngsters Aaron Muirhead and Conrad Balatoni star at the heart of the rearguard as he has been forced to settle for a place on the bench at times this term.

McNamara has not had his problems to seek on the selection front this season, with a number of influential players consigned to the sidelines through injury or suspension.

However, even the loss of some of key men has not disrupted their title challenge, with Archibald impressed with those that have come into the first-team arena. He said: "There is competition for places all over the team. The gaffer has a lot of confidence in the team and everyone that has come in has done brilliantly.

"Conrad got his chance and I think he has been our best player in the last three or four games. The good thing is we don't miss anyone. It doesn't matter who has been out this year, we haven't missed them as a team.

"I was looking at a match programme from last year and when you look at the bench, no disrespect to those boys, it is night and day compared to the quality and depth in the squad now.

"We are all fighting for the same cause, we all want to win the league. We have a lot of strength in depth and it is a very young squad as well. We have no fear."
