LANARKSHIRE prospect Rhys Pagan has admitted tonight's battle with English warhorse William Warburton will represent another vital stage in his professional learning curve.

The light-middleweight makes the fourth appearance of his pro career at the Prospect Boxing show at the Rivals Gym, Wishaw, on the undercard of Iain Butcher's battle with South African Michael Rambalesta for the vacant International Masters super-flyweight title.

Sanquhar puncher Pagan claimed victory at the same venue in October when he overcame Tamworth's Matt Seawright with a convincing points victory over six rounds and is determined to double up.

He said: "From what I have seen of Warburton he is a good fighter and experienced, and he will be feeling good after his recent Masters title win over Chris Higgs in Gloucester last month.

"That fight showed how dangerous he can be and I would say that his record can be a bit deceiving.

"But I know it will be a good fight and another part of my development and learning process and that is exactly what I need right now."

Also fighting on the seven- fight card are Billy Campbell, Kris Hughes, Mark Parvin, James Tennyson and Sean Watson.
