GRAEME DOTT admits he has fallen out of love with snooker as he prepares to kick off his Scottish Open campaign at Ravenscraig today.
The Larkhall potter has struggled to recapture the form that took him to the 2006 World Championship title.
He faces Daniel Wells in the first round this afternoon, however, the Pocket Dynamo has low expectations despite being on home turf.
"I'm not really feeling confident, no," Dott said.
"It's hard to be confident when you're not playing that well but I'm just hoping it will eventually click.
"I haven't forgotten how to play, it's just about winning. I'm not losing that much, I'm just not happy with the way I'm playing – I've been through much worse runs.
"At the moment I'm just taking it tournament by tournament – I'd love to win but to do that you have to win five or six matches without throwing in a shocker.
"I probably don't love snooker at the moment to be honest, and I certainly don't love it the way some of the current players like Stuart Bingham and Shaun Murphy do – I treat it much more like a job just now, I suppose.
"But I know if I bring my A game I can still play well and challenge for titles – I'm not on a great run but I'm still winning and I've been to two quarter-finals already this year, but I feel like it's been with my B game.
"I'm looking forward to it – it's always nice when you don't have to check into a hotel.
"I think they should have more tournaments in Scotland, even smaller ones.
"If you look at all the players who have come out of this country we definitely deserve to have large tournaments.
"I have never played Daniel Wells before but he's a very good player, so it will be a really tough match."
