DAVID TEMPLETON was on top form during the week and if he continues to turn on the style Rangers will pull further and further away at the top of the table.
When Ally McCoist brought in a number of players from the SPL, he did so on the understanding they would more often and not make the difference at this level.
That is why he brought in the likes of Ian Black, Dean Shiels, Fran Sandaza, Kevin Kyle and Templeton.
They haven't all played as well as we probably expected but Temps looks to be the one that can really make things happen.
He scored two goals and set up the other strike in the 3-0 win over Annan Athletic and the supporters really enjoy watching him perform.
Now six points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand, Rangers will move even further ahead if they defeat Elgin City tomorrow afternoon.
So they could be looking at being at least 12 points clear in the coming weeks.
That is where most of us expected Rangers to be at the start of the season, but it has taken them a while to fully settle into their new surroundings in the lower leagues.
But with Templeton back to full fitness, and Sandaza now back after a long lay-off, the decision to sign players with SPL experience might just pay dividends in the next month or two as Rangers aim to run away with the title.
