GLASGOW WARRIORS assistant coach Shade Munro has highlighted the leadership of skipper Al Kellock as crucial to the side signing off with a win in their Heineken Cup campaign against Northampton tomorrow.

Gregor Townsend's team are determined to end their Pool Four schedule on a high with a win in tomorrow's 1.35pm kick-off, one that could possibly deny his former club a berth in the last eight of rugby's top European club cup.

Munro has no doubt the key to Glasgow's hopes is to stop Saints' renowned driving line-out and to make sure his men more than hold their own in the set piece.

In that respect he views the contribution of line-out king Kellock as pivotal.

The Warriors No.2 said: "Al Kellock is Mr Glasgow and his leadership on the field is massive for us.

"When he's not playing you notice. The players respect him 100% and he has a galvanising effect on them.

"There is not much that he hasn't seen over the years with Glasgow and all of his experience will be vital tomorrow afternoon."

Munro added: "This whole campaign has been a massive learning curve for the lads.

"Nobody has outplayed us in any of the five games and in each of the ties there have been periods when we have been on top but failed to push on.

"Tomorrow is about finally getting over the line, regaining our pride and going out with our heads held high even if we can't qualify."

Munro has made it a priority that his side cut down on the number of lineouts they concede after Warriors shipped 18 in the first tie between the two sides in October which Saints won 24-15 having trailed by 15 points early on.

The Glasgow assistant head coach said: "If we don't stop their driving line-out then we will have real problems.

"There is no way we can afford to ship 18 lineouts like we did in Northampton.

"The scrum is going to be vital as they are a big, hard-nosed side.

"However, we owe them one from that first tie. It was the one that got away."
