ALEXANDER (6) Saved well from Rory McAllister early on.

Had precious little to do thereafter. The goalkeeper did well to stave off the threat of hypothermia.

HEGARTY (7) The young right-back was always eager to push forward whenever play allowed. Excelled defensively as well. His headed clearance at the death was vital.

CRIBARI (7) The Brazilian was his usual composed and reliable self in the heart of the Rangers backline. Was outstanding in the air against a team not averse to using the long ball.

PERRY (7) Careless in possession at times. Gifted the ball to the home team needlessly on occasion. That said, he must take much credit for his team keeping a clean sheet.

WALLACE (8) Excellent. His low drive from the edge of the Peterhead area set up Francisco Sandaza for the goal. Will have given Gordon Strachan food for thought if the new Scotland manager was watching.

HUTTON (7) More than matched the physicality of the home team. Important in ensuring the hosts failed to get a foothold in the match.

BLACK (6) Returned to central midfield after serving a one-match suspension against Berwick. Persevered well after being subjected to some hefty challenges.

LITTLE (6) Unlucky not to win a penalty after being brought down by Ross Smith on the edge of the opposition area in the 21st minute. Put in a tireless shift against gutsy opponents.

TEMPLETON (7) Recovered well after being scythed down by Ryan McCann early in the first half. Looked capable of creating an opening whenever he got on the ball. Missed a sitter at the end.

MACLEOD (6) Played in an unfamiliar role up front just behind lone striker Sandaza. The youngster worked very hard without influencing proceedings greatly.

SANDAZA (8) Ended his goal drought with an opportunistic strike on the half-hour mark. It was just reward for all his hard work. Stuck to his task impressively.

SUBSTITUTES

CRAWFORD (4) Looked bright after replacing Black.

McKAY (3) A late replacement for Sandaza.
