GORDON Strachan will include Rangers defender Lee Wallace when he names his first squad as Scotland manager today.

The 25-year-old will be in the group selected for next week's friendly against Estonia despite previous controversy over Ibrox players being selected while the club is in the Irn-Bru Third Division.

The Dark Blues boss has decided he needs the option of Wallace at left-back and the Rangers man will be in the squad announced in Aberdeen today, ahead of next midweek's fixture at Pittodrie.

Wallace has appeared 27 times for his club this season and last played for Scotland in the 5-1 friendly defeat in the USA last May.

Previous national manager Craig Levein had said it would be difficult to select players while they were in the bottom tier of Scottish football but then picked Ian Black and gave him a debut against Australia in August.

No Rangers player has been selected for Scotland in the five international matches since then.
