C CRAWFORD from Giffnock asked Davie what was the earliest you ever won the league as a player or manager?
Well, I left it late – certainly when I was manager! That day we won the league at Love Street in 1986 was a real last-gasp victory under really unlikely circumstances.
But, as a player, I can't ever recall a time when it was sewn up too early. At that point in time the league was a a lot stronger and as well as Rangers at your back you would also have had very strong Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts and Dundee United teams.
Just email Davie at daviehay@eveningtimes.co.uk and we'll print the answer alongside the question.
