GLASGOW lock Tim Swinson failed to cash in on his two- try haul in the record-breaking triumph over Newport Gwent Dragons.

But he reckons he will have hit the jackpot if he can help the Warriors topple Rabo Direct Pro12 leaders Ulster at Scotstoun tonight.

Swinson touched down twice in his side's astonishing 60-3 triumph over the Dragons at Rodney Parade in Wales last Friday.

However, his brace was tinged with disappointment – as he had passed up the opportunity to put money on the feat at massive odds.

"A few of the guys were having a conversation before the Dragons game and somebody pointed out to me that I was 300-1 to score two tries," he recalled.

"It was fair enough I suppose. The only guys you would put money to score two tries in a game are DTH van der Merwe and Tommy Seymour.

"It was funny that, having talked about it, I duly went out and got a couple of tries. I have done it before in one game, but it is fairly unusual.

"Still, I wasn't that bothered I didn't put any money on myself. All that matters to me is the team getting the result that we want.

"That will certainly be the case against Ulster. We are enjoying a good spell of form going into what will be a very difficult game and are confident we can get the win."

Swinson believes Gregor Townsend's side, including in form Peter Horne, will have to replicate their play in two key areas against Dragons if they want to overcome the Irish.

He explained: "Quite a lot went right against the Dragons. But we were especially good at the breakdown. We were a lot more physical in that key area than we had been.

"We were also clinical in our finishing. We ran hard in the backs. Those are two areas we will have to be good in against Ulster.

"We have played them three times this season and have lost three times. But the good thing is we know what mistakes we made against them before and where we need to improve.

"Ulster are one of the top teams in this league and in Europe. All aspects of our game have got to be good. But we will have to be aggressive at the breakdown and clinical in our finishing."

Meanwhile, some tickets are still available for Scotland's RBS 6 Nations clash with Ireland at Murrayfield on Sunday.

Over 66,000 tickets have been sold for the showdown, but a few hundred are still on sale.
