Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels thinks he is one of the "best behaved managers in the SPL".

The Irishman has been in trouble with the SFA this season over a series of misconduct charges, mostly relating to his post-match comments.

Shiels was in hot water again last week in Inverness and he now says he is gagging himself in order to avoid further clashes.

But he still claims he has done little wrong.

"My behaviour, when you compare it to other managers, and the way I conduct myself in the dugout is fine," he said.

"I'd say I am one of the best behaved managers in the SPL.

"However, I have decided from now on I will say nothing. I feel as though I've been penalised for my open-ness this season.

"Saying nothing and speaking in cliches is the way that I go now."

Matters on the pitch are equally exasperating.

Killie lost Manuel Pascali this week after the Italian was told he needs surgery on a hamstring injury.

He will be out for the remainder of the campaign and, with Cillian Sheridan also sidelined, it is a difficult time for the Kilmarnock manager whose side host Aberdeen tomorrow.

He said: "If you look at the players we have lost since January, either leaving the club or being injured, it is significant.

"We are a small squad and losing players like Pascali and Sheridan can cripple us, especially as we are also without Liam Kelly, Gary Harkins and Michael Nelson."
