I was delighted to see Scotland achieve our first back-to-back victories in the RBS 6 Nations in 12 years with the success over Ireland following up the victory over Italy.
I think the real hallmark of the Irish win was the guts the players showed to keep hanging on in there until the momentum changed, and then the killer touch shown by Greig Laidlaw to convert his penalties was superb.
Although I think the Wales game will be a very different type of game on Saturday week, we have given ourselves a fantastic platform into it and the fact we are still alive in the Championship is tremendous.
From a Glasgow perspective, for Al Kellock to earn his 50th cap against Ireland was immense and I thought Duncan Weir was outstanding when he came on. Sean Maitland also did some tremendous try-saving defensive work.
Earlier this week we completed the re-signing of Richie Vernon and I am very confident he will fit in very well with the style of rugby we're developing here at Warriors.
Richie has the ability to play in all three back-row positions and is highly motivated to become a better player.
He will also provide another option amongst some very talented back-row players and I am confident that we can develop Richie's game in the areas that will allow him to get right back into the Scotland squad.
I think Richie will benefit hugely from the work he will do with Matt Taylor and defensively that will make a huge difference to him and his hopes of regaining his international place.
