JOE LEDLEY has insisted Celtic cannot afford to go gung-ho tonight when they attempt to rescue their Champions League dream against Juventus.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon has promised to send out an attacking team here in Turin against the Italian champions after losing the first leg 3-0.

Ledley is certainly aiming to sign off in style if scoring three goals on the night does prove too much for them, but he also made it clear his team-mates must remain mindful of the quality of opposition they are up against when they take the field.

He said: "I'm sure the manager will send us out to approach the game in a positive fashion – we always have in all the other Champions League matches both home and away.

"And we know it is important to try and get the first goal and take things from there.

"If we can then who knows what can happen but the result from the first-leg was a big disappointment.

"But you can't just afford to go all-out attack against a team like Juventus. They have quality players from middle to front and you won't get away with giving them too much space and time because they will eventually hurt you."

Although Parkhead manager Lennon admits it is highly unlikely his team can pull off the minor miracle he says his team would have to achieve to rescue the tie, he is determined to see his players put in a performance they can be proud of even if it does turn out to be their last appearance in the competition this season.

Ledley added: "As much as we are all determined to give this our best shot, we also have to be sensible.

"I'm sure we will try and commit players forward and attack Juventus as much as possible, however, we also have to remember we can't afford to leave ourselves short at the other end."
