THE SPFL today announced a new, exclusive three-year broadcast deal with Indian sports channel Sony SIX.

The move will see Premiership and League One fixtures screened in the country for the first time across television, mobile and internet platforms.

More than 70 SPFL matches will be covered, including Rangers' fixtures in League One.

Sony SIX already have the rights to World Cup qualifiers and the 2016 European Championships and have now clinched a deal to show our top teams to one of the biggest audiences in the world.

The contract will run until the 2015/16 campaign and SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster has hailed the move as the new organisation look to strike further deals to showcase our national game.

Doncaster said: "We are delighted to partner with Sony SIX to broadcast the new Scottish Premiership and Scottish League One into India for the first time.

"They are the ideal partner to generate local interest in our League.

"India is a major market for sports content and we look forward to working closely with Sony SIX and MP & Silva to grow our audience in this hugely-populated country where the consumption of football continues to gain momentum."

A radio broadcast deal has also been struck with Bauer Media that will see its stations - Clyde, Forth, Northsound, Tay, West and MFR - broadcast goal flashes from Premiership and League One matches for the coming season.
